Ross and I were requested to attend a work award show for his company this past weekend in Los Angeles. Though the event was finished on Friday night, we decided to make a weekend out of it since we rarely spend time in LA. It was my birthday this past weekend so Ross booked the amazing Georgian hotel to celebrate. The suite overlooked the beach and the location was nothing less than perfect. With plenty of shopping, eateries and late night entertainment just steps away from our hotel, we made the most we could out of our short Santa Monica getaway.

Living 20 minutes away from Napa never gets old. It is one of my favorite day trips. Exploring vineyards, trying new eateries and taking in the fabulous views is a great way to spend a Saturday. There is something peaceful about sharing a bottle of wine between friends, having good conversation and being surrounded by endless rows of vines. This past weekend we did exactly that. We stopped at Twomey Cellars for a quick taste then headed to V. Sattui for a picnic.
While on the East Coast, R and I had a day to ourselves after a weekend filled with wedding festivities. After contemplating throughout breakfast what was on our agenda for the day, we finally decided relaxing in Cape May would be perfect. Cape May is at the very tip of New Jersey and a total summer vacation town. From the victorian style homes to the endless shopping, I could see why east coasters would want to spend their summers here.
